Doha - Qatar: The recently concluded Global Gas Field Development Summit 2012 in Doha, Qatar was successful with delegates and speakers participating from all across the globe. The two day conference was held at Sharq Village Hotel & Spa. Companies and organizations that participated include Qatar Petroleum, Petronas-Carigali, Kuwait Oil Company, Fugro-Jason, ADCO and many more. The conference started with opening remarks from David Sweet, Executive Director, WADE who discussed various topics including Legal and Regulatory Perspectives in Developing a Shale Gas Field, Educating the public about Shale Gas Field development and strategies for success and separating facts from fiction about production of shale gas among others. Panel discussions were held on Best Practices of Drilling, Planning and Development of a Gas Field and Pathways to a low-carbon economy. The event also featured case studies and presentations by speakers. The conference closed with notes from Justin Dargin, Harvard University, Former Legal Associate of OPEC, MENA Energy Scholar-Harvard University (USA).
